Thin Lizzy and a Geography Quiz Breaking Bad
Thin Lizzy and Geography Teachers...The Madness...
Last night at O'Malley's, the bar near the dunes by cape, I put a few coins in the jukebox and played some old Thin Lizzy classics. After the first few notes, a man at the bar burst into tears. The barman explained that the tearful man was an ex-geography teacher that was often upset by Thin Lizzy's geography problems. I was only aware of some of their geography problems. I knew, that they didn't know that jailbreaks take place in jails. Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak, Somewhere in this town. They were unsure where a jailbreak could take place, and harboured ideas that they could happen in supermarkets, dry cleaners or hotels.
This was no big deal, not everyone knows their way round town.
This was no big deal, not everyone knows their way round town.
However, the barman convincingly argued that they had more serious geographical problems than that. He contested that, if Thin Lizzy ever decided to pack their cases and leave without a sound, disappear without a trace and go southbound, which they often attempted to do, they would probably end up at the north pole. The upshot of missing the last bus and walking home alone, even in the bright moonlight, would be an entry in the missing persons list.
The Ex-geography teacher, crying into his 13th pint of Old Hog's Brain Snapper, had a big problem with the song Emerald, and mumbled something about Thin Lizzy being unaware that glens are steep glacial U-shaped valleys. Then a fight broke out over an argument about promontories and escarpments. When a geography quiz night is breaking bad, It's either time to call up the cops or time to have some pints of Old Hog's Brain Snapper.

Jailbreak
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
Somewhere in this town
See me and the boys we don't like it
So were getting up and going down
Hiding low looking right to left
If you see us coming I think it's best
To move away do you hear what I say
From under my breath
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
Somewhere in the town
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
So don't you be around
Don't you be around
Tonight there's gonna be trouble
Some of us won't survive
See the boys and me mean business
Bustin' out dead or alive
I can hear the hound dogs on my trail
All hell breaks loose, alarm and sirens wail
Like the game if you lose
Go to jail
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
Somewhere in the town
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
So don't you be around
Tonight there's gonna trouble
I'm gonna find myself in
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
So woman stay with a friend
You know it's safer
Breakout!
Tonight there's gonna be a breakout
Into the city zones
Don't you dare to try and stop us
No one could for long
Searchlight on my trail
Tonight's the night all systems fail
Hey you good lookin' female
Come here!
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
Somewhere in the town
Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak
So don't you be around
Tonight there's gonna be trouble
I'm gonna find myself in
Tonight there's gonna be trouble

Emerald
Down from the glen came the marching men
With their shields and their swords
To fight the fight they believed to be right
Overthrow the overlords
To the town where there was plenty
They brought plunder, swords and flame
When they left the town was empty
Children would never play again
From their graves I heard the fallen
Above the battle cry
By that bridge near the border
There were many more to die
Then onward over the mountain
And outward towards the sea
They had come to claim the Emerald
Without it they could not leave
Down from the glen came the marching men
With their shields and their swords
To fight the fight they believed to be right
Overthrow the overlords
To the town where there was plenty
They brought plunder, swords and flame
When they left the town was empty
Children would never play again
From their graves I heard the fallen
Above the battle cry
By that bridge near the border
There were many more to die
Then onward over the mountain
And outward towards the sea
They had come to claim the Emerald
Without it they could not leave
Dancing In The Moonlight (It's Caught Me In Its Spotlight)
When I passed you in the doorway
Well you took me with a glance
I should have took that last bus home
But I asked you for a dance
Now we go steady to the pictures
I always get chocolate stains on my pants
And my father he's going crazy
He says I'm living in a trance
But I'm dancing in the moonlight
It's caught me in its spotlight
It's alright, alright
Dancing in the moonlight
On this long hot summer night
It's three o'clock in the morning
And I'm on the streets again
I disobeyed another warning
I should have been in by ten
Now I won't get out until Sunday
I'll have to say I stayed with friends
But it's a habit worth forming
If it means to justify the end
Dancing in the moonlight
It's caught me in its spotlight
It's alright, alright
Dancing in the moonlight
On this long hot summer night
And I'm walking home
The last bus has long gone
But I'm dancing in the moonlight
Dancing in the moonlight
It's caught me in its spotlight
It's alright, alright
Dancing in the moonlight
On this long hot summer night
Dancing in the moonlight (I'm dancing in the moonlight)

It's caught me in its spotlight (It's caught me alright alright alright)

It's caught me in its spotlight (I'm still dancing)

Southbound
The boom time it is over
A ghost town is all that's left here
The gold rush it is over
And depression days draw near
Tonight after sundown
I'm going to pack my case
I leave without a sound
Disappear without a trace
I'm going southbound
Drifting like a drover
Chasing my career
From the ships docked in the harbour
New horizons will appear
Tumbling with the tumbleweed
Down the open road
Taking only what I need
Before my head explodes
I'm going southbound
Hey, you're not getting any younger
The wild west has already been won
Northern lights are growing colder
And the old eastern ways are gone
So tonight after sundown
You must go from this place
Without a tear, without a frown
Disappear without a trace
The boom time it is over
A ghost town is all that's left here
The gold rush it is over
And depression days draw near
Tonight after sundown
I'm going to pack my case
